When you want to be sure of starting, choose batteries from Banner. Rough use and demanding climates characterise the construction industry, so it's good to know that you can rely on your batteries.
This is also the feedback Entrack's own «Banner guru», Per Ole Hveberg, has heard most often since he started working with the Austrian quality manufacturer in 1985.
- "It's all about quality and service, if you ask how customers would describe Banner," begins Hveberg. Because these are quality batteries, manufactured in Europe. By the way, we're pretty much alone on that last point, because not many of the competing brands have full control over where their own batteries are manufactured. At Entrack, we believe the customer should know that," he continues.
Stored underground

With more than 30 years of experience with the brand, it's not enough to say that Hveberg has a high level of expertise in Banner batteries. He is also very proud to represent the well-known European manufacturer.
- The factory has been on the same site in Linz since it was completed in 1937, and is now run by the fifth generation of the family. "Over the years it has grown so large that the only possibility for expansion is in height," says Hveberg.
And he means that literally, because a gigantic warehouse has already been built beneath the factory to store the batteries at optimum temperatures. This means that the service life is world-class.
- In order to optimise the storage of the batteries, they have been built into the ground. For those of us who work with Banner, it's important to be able to tell the customer both where the battery was manufactured and that it has been stored in the best possible way. You can vouch for the technical specifications with Banner. What's on the labelling is what you find on the inside," says Hveberg.
WARNING: The story continues below the picture.

- Battery is a perishable item
In recent decades, the focus on the environment has also grown ever stronger. Both for producers and consumers.
- The environment is becoming increasingly important. The requirements for our production are becoming stricter and stricter, and consumers are demanding new, environmentally friendly technology. And it's when the requirements become more and more advanced that the differences between manufacturers become most apparent. The batteries in today's new cars must be able to withstand more consumption and harder charging, because the cars have more and more equipment that uses electricity. That's when the so-called number two brands, or cheap brands, start to fall by the wayside. They can't keep up with that technology," warns Hveberg.
There's also one important aspect that battery customers need to be aware of, according to Entrack.
- Batteries are a perishable commodity. The clock is ticking from the time the battery is manufactured until it ends up in the warehouse. For us, it's clearly labelled, but for some other players, no one knows how long the battery has been in a warehouse or in the store. We believe that the customer deserves a completely different level of security than that," says Hveberg firmly.
- Know that the customer will be satisfied
If you're a construction or transport professional, you don't have the time or the money to leave your car or machine idle because of a battery. Entrack knows this.
- Our goal is to ensure that our knowledge provides the customer with good finances. That's why we like to analyse our customers' needs before giving advice. The knowledge we have enables you to choose the right product, because we think holistically. Banner is a fun product to sell, because you know that the customer will be satisfied. And there's a high probability that he'll come back after a few years, because it's so good," he says happily.
Offering start-up assistance
During the winter, one product in particular is in high demand. Starting aid.
- This winter hasn't been all that great, but we've sold the most jump starters in the whole of Europe over the past eight years. More than big markets like Italy, France and Spain. And that's perhaps a little surprising to many people, because it's not just the cold weather that kills batteries, the heat does too. But the booster we sell is so technically advanced that it can also be used on new vehicles, which is not a given for cars with modern electronics," says Hveberg, holding up the bestseller.
He has one final request to industry professionals:
- "Anyone who works with construction machinery should have a jump starter in their car. "You don't often need it, but it's certainly good to have when you do," says Hveberg.
