In the late 1980s, Kåre Inge Hettervik saw the versatile machines for the first time. He's been convinced ever since.
- It all started at a trade fair in Nuremberg in ’88. I was fascinated by the Kramer wheel loaders, they seemed absolutely perfect for landscapers. But there was no buzz around the brand back then, so it was many years before we bought our first one," Hettervik begins.
Ten years ago, however, the CEO of Vaglid AS ensured that Kramer was brought into the machine park. Since then, the number has increased steadily.
- "Today we have four Kramer wheel loaders. Our experience has been very good, Kramer is simply quality," continues the manager.
Expanding use
Vaglid is headquartered in Grinde, just outside Haugesund, and is characterised as a traditional landscaping company by the manager himself. Where the wheel loaders are getting more and more work assignments.
- We do just about everything. Everything from small orders to large projects. We work with both green and grey, and have very different seasons depending on the time of year. That requires a lot of machinery," says Hettervik.
- The wheel loaders are mainly used for ploughing and gritting, as well as on construction sites in the summer. Now we've also expanded their use by purchasing broom equipment," he continues.
The Vaglid team used to have two sweepers, but the smallest of two cubic metres has been sold in favour of a Kramer.
- Wheel loaders are more flexible machines, and more people can drive them. That's why we decided to sell one sweeper and invest in two broom units instead.
- The agility is incredible. The Kramer has four-wheel steering and turns on a dime.

Agile and reliable
What about the Kramer drones themselves, what do Hettervik and co. think are the machines' greatest strengths?
- "We find Kramer to be extremely reliable. It's crucial for us to have reliable machines, and we've hardly had any downtime with these," says Hettervik.
The four wheel loaders range from two to five tonnes, with machine operator Einar Vaglid driving the second heaviest workhorse - the four-tonne 5075.
- The agility is incredible. It has four-wheel steering and turns on a dime. This comes in handy in tight spaces where access is difficult," says the driver, before adding:
- What's more, it's both easy and comfortable to drive, while still having enough power to perform the tasks required at our site.
Solid follow-up
Although the landscaping company gives its wheel loaders high praise, there will always be some challenges with machines that are used regularly.
- Of course, there have been some minor issues. But if something happens, we know it will be fixed quickly. Entrack has an organisation around Kramer that we trust - both in terms of sales and service," says Hettervik.
He emphasises that the company highly values the good cooperation with Entrack.
- It works really well. The dealer has a local connection, knows the conditions here, and is really on the ball. That's important to us.
Popular
Having built up a solid experience over time, the Rogaland-based company is clear that more Kramer wheel loaders are likely to appear in its fleet in the coming years.
- "Whether we're replacing older machines or the number of contracts increases further, it's highly relevant for us to continue investing in Kramer. So we know where to get hold of him," smiles Hettervik, nodding towards Alexander Apeland.
The machine salesman at Entrack reports great interest in Kramer despite the fact that the industry is going through a challenging time financially.
- "Even though we're in a slump now, these wheel loaders are popular. "I've never sold as many Kramer machines as I have this year," says Apeland.
He emphasises the feedback that is recurring from Kramer customers.
- In addition to their agility, they also point out that Kramer machines are very stable. "They have a constant centre of gravity because they have four-wheel steering. So Kramer is definitely something you should test out," concludes Apeland.
