- Take the first check early.
Avoid unnecessary stress and teething problems. Check your equipment now so you're ready when the first snow falls. - Check for damage and loose parts.
Go over all your equipment. Is anything loose, damaged or worn? It's much easier and cheaper to fix a small problem ahead of time than to stop in the middle of a job. - Order parts in good time.

Fill up with oil and remember to change the oil in the gearbox before the season starts. This is important to avoid condensation and wear. Also, be sure to lubricate the gearbox and other moving parts that may have hardened over the summer. - Turn or replace wear steel.
Wear steel takes the strain. Check its condition and, if possible, turn it over to fully utilise it. If it's completely worn out, it's a good idea to replace it right away. - Tighten all screws.
A loose screw can lead to major damage. Go over all equipment and tighten screws. - Do you have the right equipment?
Check that your equipment is suitable for the machine you will be using it on. Also, consider whether it's time for an upgrade for a more efficient and reliable season.
