Dafo fire extinguishing system is a reliable and efficient fire extinguishing system specially developed for construction machinery and vehicles operating in demanding working conditions. The fire extinguishing system is designed to handle the specific challenges that arise in such environments, where the risk of fire can be high due to hot engines, fuel and other flammable materials.

With the Dafo fire extinguishing system, you can rest assured that your machines are well protected against fire, while the system minimises damage, reduces downtime and ensures business continuity. This results in higher productivity and better economic operation for the end user. In addition, the system is easy to maintain, ensuring longevity and reliable performance over time.

How does the Dafo fire extinguishing system work?

The Dafo Vehicle fire extinguishing system is made up of four integrated elements: DetectionAlarmExtinguishing and Control, which together ensure a rapid and coordinated response in the event of a fire.

  • Detection: The system uses a linear heat detector cable which continuously monitors the vehicle's risk areas. When the temperature reaches 180°C, the detection system triggers an alarm that activates the extinguishing system.
  • Extinguishing: When the alarm goes off, a propellant cartridge which pressurises the extinguishing fluid container. The specially developed The Forrex liquid is rapidly distributed through a pipe system to the exposed areas, where it cools overheated engine parts, displaces oxygen and impregnates combustible materials. This effectively prevents the further spread of flames and prevents re-ignition. Forrex is known to be non-corrosive and environmentally friendly, making it a safe choice for both machines and the environment.
  • Alarm: At the same time as the extinguishing agent is activated, a alarm system which alerts the driver both visually and audibly. An alarm horn and a light signal in the vehicle's cab warn the driver of the approaching fire so that necessary measures can be taken immediately.
  • Control: Systemets control unit has a real-time clock and event log that registers all incidents and makes it possible to analyse previous fire incidents. This provides valuable insight into the system's performance and makes it easier to perform preventive maintenance.

Increased safety with manual release

To ensure full control in critical situations, the fire extinguishing system can also be activated manually via a alarm panel in the cab or through an external activation point. In addition, the system is available with a Dual display solution for vehicles such as timber lorries with cranes, so that release can take place from both the cab and the crane in accordance with the latest SBF rules. This gives the operator increased flexibility and safety during operation.

Easy maintenance and long-lasting protection

The Dafo fire extinguishing system is not only effective in emergency situations, but is also designed for easy maintenance. The system is robust and reliable, and regular inspection ensures that the machines are optimally protected throughout their lifetime. The Forrex fluid does not require frequent replacements, making the system both cost-effective and easy to operate over time.
