We received a request from a good customer of ours for an alternative to refurbishing a bucket for Caterpillar 390D with a bucket of 6500 litres. We recommended the C-REX tooth system from Combi Wear Parts. C-REX is a patented system that we have the agency for in Norway. The teeth are moulded in Ljungby in Sweden. They are innovative with a good fit and easy locking. The tooth/holder is slim, which results in better pen penetration and lower fuel consumption/longer service life. The teeth are produced with green energy and are short-range for us in Norway. According to tests carried out in the past, it stays sharper than many other alternatives on the market. This means that the good penetration ability remains good until the tooth is almost completely worn out.
We set up a proposal for 90mm knife half tip, 5 pcs C-Rex R-70 teeth, screwed front protectors 2x right + 1x right + 1x left. 3 horseshoes in chrome carbide for best protection behind the tooth holders.
The drawer was welded up by the customer's regular welding workshop. New holders for side guards were welded in, with new side guards. Added reinforcement both inside and under the drawer with wear strips. New 20kg corner protectors. +Chockybars for protection. All this was also delivered by us at Entrack AS.
The bucket knife has a long protrusion to cut the masses once, so that the masses roll loosely along the corner guards. This prevents any major wear on the sides of the bucket. And the corner blocks are so close together that larger stones do not need to be broken out several times.
You can also see that there is a nice mass between the tooth holders, front protectors and horseshoes, which means that we do not get a lot of wear on the welds/drawer front.
Chromium carbide blocks have been added to the outside of the drawer knife to try to extend its service life.
