100 % reuse - 100 % satisfied:

How Entrack built specialised equipment for the farm in Enebakk

100% reuse to create a tractor shear

In Enebakk in Akershus, Jørgen Thorsov is involved in grain and meat production on a suckler cow herd. After several years of challenges related to old pastures and uneven terrain, he needed a solution for simple levelling tasks - without having to buy new and expensive special equipment. The solution was a collaboration with Entrack.

- For several years, we've been thinking about how we can make certain areas easier to farm. It's often about pastures (and sometimes property boundaries) that need some levelling. I was in contact with both foreign manufacturers and local workshops, but it wasn't until I talked to Tor at Entrack that things really started to happen," says Jørgen.

At Entrack in Grinder, Jørgen had the opportunity to select used parts that could be reused. Two old dozer blades formed the starting point, and together with a number of other parts from dismantled machines, the workshop at Entrack was able to put together a complete, functional and solid levelling equipment - without the use of new components.

- Everything is 100 % reuse. "We're now using this equipment on plate-structured clay, which is a very rigid material, and the shear is incredibly stable in the mass. We are very satisfied," says Jørgen.

Tor from Entrack explains how the project was realised:
- The counterweight is from a Komatsu wheel loader and adds 2.5 tonnes of extra weight for better propulsion. The boom is from a Kobelco SK100, while the blade itself comes from a CAT D7. We've added a hinge mechanism so that the wings can be folded back for transport under 3 metres wide, which is important for legal road transport. All of the lifting mechanism and suspension is reused - from JCB, Eieboggi and wheel loaders. And we have incredibly skilled people in the workshop who have done a brilliant job with welding, bushings and functions for turning and tilting.

The result is a sturdy and flexible tool built for demanding Norwegian soil, and with a sustainable approach at every stage. This is economically smart, environmentally friendly and provides users with equipment that is customised to their needs.
